Back in the UK

Well, it's Carl here and by contrast to the very exciting posts from HK from Our Correspondent Ruth, I'm lying in my bed back in a very cold Earls Court, London.. yep, Spring really hasn't arrived here at all and in many ways it feels like bugger all has changed weather-wise.

The flight back was much better than I expected as the 747 on the Bangkok-London route was completely refitted inside, so Business Class was as per Singapore Airlines with a lovely lie-flat spacebed and On Demand Movies. The seat even massaged your back at the push of a button! So I take back my earlier comments and can reccomend Thai Airways Business Class for travel via BKK... if you've the cash to spare (or, like me, the air miles... sadly all gone now!)

Is really quite depressing being back, but shall instead try and focus on exciting things happening in the weeks ahead (which no doubt will feature here too, dear readers) rather than remembering how fucking amazing Melbourne and Sydney were (not assisted by the coverage of the Commonwealth Games currently showing on BBC ONE, which is inducing a combination of happy nostaligc waves and sad bitter ones related to not being back.. and waves that are, in fact, shivers of cold)
