Final ferry (from Ruth in HK)
Reached the end of my little adventure in Hong Kong (sob). Clearly I've posted heaps on here, a symptom of travelling alone and having no-one but Shushan to share the jokes with (even if they are mostly recycled from Pam and Sandra)... But tis also due to having had great time!
And haven't been alone all the time: besides my random Singapore friend who took me for Dim Sum and the Austrian lady she'd just met, and the Texan on St Patrick's Day, on this leg of the holiday I've also met -
- Chris, an American on the bus to the buddha who was very keen on me getting a masseuse to come to my hotel room
- a Nepalese waiter in a smart hotel bar overlooking the harbour who's dad had been a ghurka
- a Swedish guy who agreed the cocktail bar in the very smart Peninsular Hotel was actually a bit small and rubbish, but we did get to see the Symphony of Lights again and discuss the merits of jigsaws
- a friendly but badly-dressed German who wished me to join him for dinner but by this time I was a bit tipsy and sleepy so couldn't be bothered to talk to anyone
Cool eh? This travelling alone lark is easy! Anyway, after a final trip across the harbour on the world-famous-and-rather-picturesque-but-over-very-quickly Star Ferry, Shushan and I are off to check in for our flight home with the very lovely Cathay Pacific people. See you dans le UK later this week no doubt! xx
Oh Ruth.. you are much funnier at this blog business than I am. Have very much enjoyed your missives from Rhodesia... er, I mean, Colonial Hong Kong.
