My evening slip slip slipping away...
Well, after all the tube chaos caused by the Excessive Heat, tonight the heavens opened and we had... tube chaos caused by the Excessive Rain.
There was a landslip at Boston Manor, which is, as regular readers (if any) may know, is in fact My Manor, in a work sense anyway. Arrived after my 20-minute stroll from the office to see blue flashing lights and associated mayhem. The mud in question was good enough to do its damage just the other side of the overbridge, which at least meant I could get a snap.
I had a bit of a mental blank for about twenty minutes until I realised that, in fact, I could walk to Northfields without too much inconvenience. Alas not quite as straightforward for those going the other way... or, worse, to Heathrow (yet another reason why, despite being offensively expensive, it really is worth remortgaging the house to get the Heathrow Express)
Final thought- why can't there be a way for TfL to text you when these things happen, rather than when they don't?
