Pop pick of the week

Ladies and gents, it is not that often I (remember to) blog the "hot new releases" on here, but this week is A Good Week for Singles.

The Similou are out this week, and I heartily and fully reccomend it. I first heard the Love to Infinity remix, and that's the version I reccomend - although the 7" is good too, if a bit lighter and more summery. The remix is a full-on pumping/anthemic/storming number. Yet to hear it in a club, alas. It's on CD2 although there's a LtI radio version on CD1.

Meanwhile, it wouldn't be a great surprise if you've heard Cascada, with Everytime We Touch, as the song has been about the music channels for a while, but it's worth it. A pop/trance number that was Big In America last year and, like most things, has already been around Europe and back, but finally made its way here.

First heard it at Body Pump earlier this year (it was a Clean'n'Press track for those who attend the weekly session of torture and exhaustion to a disco beat) so it was nice to hear it come to life chart-wise. The same was true of Voodoo Child, which was a Pump track earlier this year.

Also out this week - and, like most commentators, I was surprised by the fact that it was Actually Quite Good.. and likely to do the best of these 3 - is Paris Hilton.

Anyway - do your bit for pop and buy these songs at your local Woolworths (hmm, or not, as they don't do singles these days alas)... or you can always download them from ITunes I guess. But where's the fun in that?
