Catching Up (For You)
Many apologies for, well, basically abandoning the blog shortly after the semi-final (although after that particular fiasco you can hardly forgive me for giving up can you?)... I am now writing this back in the semi-comfort of my lounge, recovering from 3 days of non-stop flag-waving and Scooch-singing... as well as bitter despair and amazing highs (thanks Malta!)
The highlights were undoubtedly the Douze Points moment, plus our leading the good people of Helsinki in many renditions of Flying the Flag (For You)... in Senate Square on Eurovision night itself; at 4.30am on the steps of the Euroclub (on both Friday and Saturday nights). We rocked Helsinki, and we did it to a camp pop disco beat. What an amazing weekend.
ps: We flew back with Scooch, who were, much as on Thursday, completely lovely and they signed our T-shirts for us. The captain (the real one, that is, not Russ) gave a hearty congrats to Scooch as we began our descent and the whole plane clapped. It brought a tear to my eye.
pps: I'll add a few more snaps to Flickr soon, blog-fans, to make up for abandonment! I think it was A's tribute to Switzerland's DJ Bobo song (below) that scared me away...
