Had dinner here tonight with my Pa, after he read a review a while ago. It's on Crawford Street, where my parents lived and worked back in the day, and is a spruced-up boozer that now has an obligatory upstairs "Dining Room".
Thoughts - nice food, no question, but pricey... worth the cash? Possibly, but not massively. It was quite quiet - a small venue, admittedly, but with only a few tables occupied and quite a hushed atmosphere. Service was pleasant. But at £40 a head, without wine, and with just one desert...
The downstairs pub was more lively, and had a Bar Menu too, and might be worth a shout if you can get a table.
We strolled along Crawford St after this and popped in to chat to the manager of Garbo's at number 42 - my folks used to run the bistro that was here before Garbo's came along.
It's very much Swedish territory around here - as well as Garbo's, and the Swedish church, there's also the famous Harcourt Arms - the place to watch Melodifestival in the UK...
