Release Me Is Released
It's doing well on the iTunes chart on its first day of release... (hope I've not jinxed it by saying that), but Scandipop needs your support. We saw her on Saturday at Heaven, she did On And On as well as Release Me, and did so live (of course) and damn well.
Star Pilots were also in attendance... well, sort of. Three of the dancers, but no Johan, so to the uninitiated (which was 99% of the crowd in Heaven) it just looked quite bizarre.
Sadly the single only crept to no. 21 this week despite A-listing on Radio 1, and airplay elsewhere too - and with the might of the Ministry of Sound machine behind them. By contrast, Agnes is signed to a smaller UK label, but is storming (fingers crossed) in the charts. Yes, they're quite different songs, but the Star Pilots UK launch clearly hasn't been handled as well as you'd hope (a few more meaningful live PAs might have helped!).
Ah well - it would be great if another single could emerge - Higher was also performed at Heaven and was amazing as ever (well, it was being played off the CD!). For a reminder of how it should best be experienced:
