I shoulda known better...
..than to think that I'd change the habit of a lifetime and do some regular blogging during the Olympics. Apologies if I got my reader's hopes up [intentional apostrophe placement]. In fairness the Games have kept me on my feet nonstop for 2 weeks, and they ain't over yet.
I have taken loads of photos though so will do something with them post-Games.
Am writing this while sat sipping a mojito in an Olympics-oriented pop-up venue near Hackney Wick. It's great, with a big screen and stuff, but really very quiet - clearly far more than expected - which seems to be the theme of places like this. It's a shame, massively, as I think if the "where to watch the Games outdoors" thing had been better promoted and earlier, more people would be doing it. Mind you we have had pretty mediocre weather too.
